Milton Freidman often made simple ideas powerful and this is an example of one of his finest by far. Regrettably he was corrupted by the power of the state under Ronald Reagan and managed to make the free market its patsy for govt failure ever since.
However, he draws an excellent analogy here regarding the process of production and world peace. Voluntary solutions are the only ones that really work.
